Army pledges action against criminal elements in Taraba

The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, in Jalingo, has declared its readiness to eradicate bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements causing turmoil in Taraba State.

Etim assured the public of the brigade’s unwavering commitment to ensuring robust security for the state’s residents.

He expressed gratitude to the local community for their cooperation and support, particularly in promptly reporting the movements of criminals.

The Brigade Commander also extended appreciation to the state government for its support in effectively responding to security threats.

Encouraging officers and soldiers within the brigade to intensify their efforts, Etim emphasized the significance of WASA as a recognition of their accomplishments in the preceding year.

Acknowledging the leadership provided by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in fulfilling the Nigerian Army’s duties, Etim commended COAS and expressed gratitude to Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar, GOC of the 3 Armoured Division Jos, for assisting the brigade in promptly and adequately securing the state’s citizens.

On his part, the state governor, Agbu Kefas, applauded the brigade for effectively addressing insecurity in the state. Represented by Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Alkali, Kefas attributed the current peace to the dedicated efforts of the Nigerian Army, emphasizing the pivotal role of a secure environment in fostering peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups.

While urging the army to redouble its efforts in tackling security challenges, Kefas assured the public that the government had implemented substantial measures to enhance security operations.
