APGA Fixes Form Fees, Announces Schedule for 2026 Anambra LG Elections

โ€ŽThe All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled its provisional timetable for the 2026 Anambra State Local Government primary elections.

โ€Ž

โ€ŽIn a statement issued on Thursday in Awka by its National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the party said the schedule was approved in accordance with APGAโ€™s constitution and the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) calendar.

โ€ŽAccording to the timetable, the sale and return of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will take place at APGAโ€™s Awka Regional Secretariat from January 27 to February 6.

โ€Ž

โ€ŽScreening of chairmanship and councillorship aspirants will follow from February 7 to 11 across the stateโ€™s 21 local government areas and 326 wards. Appeals arising from the screening exercise are scheduled for February 13. Ward congresses to elect councillorship candidates and ad-hoc delegates will hold on February 14.

โ€ŽThe chairmanship primary election is set for February 15 in Awka, with any appeals arising from the primaries to be resolved the following day, February 16.

โ€ŽAPGA fixed the cost of forms at N6 million for chairmanship aspirants and N600,000 for councillorship aspirants. Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will pay half of these fees.

โ€ŽThe party noted that all payments are non-refundable and that the dates remain subject to change.

โ€ŽThe party urged all intending aspirants to strictly comply with the stipulated guidelines and electoral regulations.
