Zidane rejects another approach to coach new club

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly turned down an approach from Paris Saint-Germain to replace Christophe Galtier as head coach.

PSG are expected to confirm the sacking of their current manager, Galtier, despite lifting the 2022–23 French Ligue 1 title.

Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has been the most hotly tipped to take on the role.

But reports in France have indicated that he was not the first choice at the Parc des Princes.

According to Le Parisien, Zidane has been asked in recent weeks whether he would take on the PSG coaching job.

The report added that the Frenchman rejected PSG’s advances and that the Parisians have since turned their attention to a number of managers, including Nagelsmann.

Former Spain manager Luis Enrique and Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso are also featured on PSG’s shortlist of managers.
