The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Zamfara State has warned its supporters to desist from vandalizing properties belonging to the All Progressives Congress, APC as the PDP has taken over the state.
The Party’s secretary, Faruk Shettima Rijiya said the fact that PDP won the governorship election in the state does not give anybody the power to destroy properties belonging to the opposition or individual properties.
In an interview in Gusau, he said, “We are not part of such arrangements and will never support such kind of inhumanity in any form.
”Zamfara State needs to be repositioned and not destroy the existing properties, the party distances itself from anybody found doing such.”
He said the incoming government does not have the intention of witch-hunting anybody, adding that the speculations making the rounds in the state that Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle is being targeted are false.
“We are not targeting anybody but whosoever is found guilty of the law must face the consequences of the law because nobody would be made a sacred cow or untouchable because the new administration is set to fish them out.
“Destruction of opposition parties or individual properties does not help the incoming government at any level but let the supporters maintain their loyalty to the party.
