The Zamfara State House of Assembly has promised to review and revive the activities of civil society organizations’ liaison office for efficient and effective engagement with partners at different levels.
This was not contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital by the Speaker, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya while inspecting the chamber and offices of both members and staff of the House.
“Having such an important office in the Assembly will allow for wider engagements, tapping from both external and internal support and experience thereby improving the houses’ efficiency and people-oriented legislation.
The Speaker who was taken around by the clerk of the House and his Deputy, Shehu Sa’idu Anka and Mahmud Aliyu commended the staff for their commitment and dedication to their primary responsibilities calling on them to maintain the tempo.
“Continue to work diligently to support the State House of Assembly and the lawmakers for a better service delivery,” Magarya said.
While on inspection, the Speaker assured of his readiness to improve the welfare of the staff to boost their morale and reward deserving staff, pointing out that punishment of shirkers among the staff will be maintained.
“We will no longer condone laxity as we are moving to the fourth and last session of the sixth Assembly, we have to be more productive”
