You’ve violated everything – Russia reacts to Lithuania’s latest action

Russia has reacted to Lithuania’s decision to ban the transit of sanctioned materials to Russia through the Kaliningrad region.

Kaliningrad is Russia’s exclave in the European Union and Moscow described the action as “unprecedented” and “illegal.”

According to CNN, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, said the decision “is a violation of everything.”

Peskov spoke with reporters during a regular conference call on Monday, saying “We also consider it illegal.”

Peskov added that his country will need to analyze Lithuania’s action carefully, further describing it as “part of a blockade, of course.”

Lithuanian Railways, the state-owned railway company, had notified Russia that starting midnight on June 18, transit trains with goods subject to EU sanctions would no longer be allowed to pass through.
