You’ve different problems since Ferguson left, not only Ronaldo – Del Piero tells Man United

Juventus legend, Alessandro Del Piero has told Manchester United that they have different problems, not only forward, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Del Piero believes Man United still have something missing from their squad since Sir Alex Ferguson left Old Trafford a few years ago.

Ronaldo has made it clear he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer after Man United finished sixth last season in the Premier League table.

The Portugal captain is yet to report for pre-season training, having been given extended time off for ‘family reasons’.

“I still believe he is an amazing champion with a great mentality,” Del Piero told ESPN FC about Ronaldo, who scored 24 goals in 38 games last season across all competitions.

“He is not in shape like you used to see. If you play in a team that is playing super well, your performances will be much better.

“On the other side, if you play in a team that is not playing well, it is the opposite. You will play much worse.

“Manchester United are still in a difficult position. They have changed a lot with managers and players, and something is missing at the club ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left.

“They have different problems, not only Cristiano Ronaldo.”
