Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has hailed former Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois for saving his side in the 2-0 victory over the Blues in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday.
After 154 appearances for Chelsea over four years, Courtois left Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid in 2018.
The Belgian has been outstanding for the Spanish capital city club and his save denied Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella in the first half.
“Courtois saved us, kept it 0-0 until half time,” Ancelotti, a former Chelsea boss told the media at Stamford Bridge.
The former Everton boss went on to explain that In the second half Real Madrid played a lot better.
He said they added a lot more quality while the Blues lowered their own intensity a bit which allowed Los Blancos to control the ball better.
