Yobe Assembly passes bill establishing Hisba Commission

The Yobe State House of Assembly has passed the bill for the establishment of the Hisba Commission in the state.

The bill was passed on Wednesday.

According to Yakubu Suleiman, the chairman of the committee, the establishment of the Hisba Commission would assist the government in ensuring proper implementation of Shari’a law in order to sanitise society from all social vices and crimes.

Suleiman commended members of the House for their various contributions towards the success of the Hisba Bill.

Newsmen earlier reported that the Yobe State House of Assembly had adopted the report of its Standing Committee on Justice, Judiciary, and Religious Affairs on a bill seeking to establish the Hisba Commission in the state.

The House adopted the report after extensive deliberation on the 41 recommendations of the committee.
