WWT Begins Mobilisation In 239 Kogi Wards Ahead Of 2027 Elections

The Win With Tinubu (WWT) Grassroots Mobilisation Programme in Kogi State has announced plans to inaugurate its structures across the state’s 239 electoral wards on November 1, 2026, as part of efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Kogi State Programme Coordinator, Sani Philips, disclosed this Yesterday, during a press conference, where he outlined the programme’s transition from federal constituency town hall meetings to a decentralised grassroots mobilisation framework.

Philips said the initiative was designed to establish a coordinated network linking communities with political leadership, adding that the planned ward-level structures would provide a platform for sustained engagement with voters across the state.

He explained that the programme’s first phase, which involved town hall meetings across Kogi’s federal constituencies, provided opportunities for political dialogue, stakeholder interaction and discussions on the policies of the Tinubu administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the meetings also helped the programme identify strategies for expanding its reach and strengthening its grassroots presence ahead of the next general elections.

He acknowledged the contributions of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District and chairman of WWT, and Senator Jibrin Isah, popularly known as Echocho, representing Kogi East and co-chairman of the programme, to the successful implementation of the initial phase.

The coordinator said the second phase would focus on inaugurating and activating local government and ward executive structures, with the wards serving as the operational foundation of the statewide mobilisation network.

He stressed that the exercise would go beyond appointing executives, noting that the structures would be expected to coordinate activities, maintain communication with the programme’s leadership and engage communities on issues affecting them.

Philips identified ward-level coordination, policy communication, community engagement, volunteer mobilisation, and monitoring and accountability as the five major priorities of the second phase.

He said the programme would promote factual and verifiable information about federal government policies and achievements while encouraging two-way communication that would enable grassroots participants to raise concerns and communicate community needs.

On volunteer participation, Philips said the mobilisation drive would be based on voluntary involvement, peaceful engagement and respect for democratic rights, insisting that intimidation, coercion and inducement would have no place in the programme.

He also clarified that WWT was not a campaign council but a structured grassroots mobilisation initiative dedicated to building support for Tinubu’s re-election and APC candidates for the National Assembly elections in Kogi State.

He reaffirmed the programme’s commitment to lawful political participation, transparency and accountability.

Philips called on party stakeholders, supporters and volunteers to support the planned rollout, saying the programme’s success would depend on effective implementation and measurable results across the 239 wards.

He urged the media to distinguish between announced plans, ongoing activities and verified outcomes in their coverage of the initiative.
