Wike trying to govern Rivers as FCT minister – Adeyanju

Nigerian rights activist Deji Adeyanju has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, of trying to govern Rivers State again.

Adeyanju said Wike was dishing out to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State what he will never tolerate from anyone.

Recall that Wike and Fubara have been at each others necks over the control of the State’s political structure.

The face-off between the duo led to the burning of the House of Assembly complex and subsequent demolition.

Some commissioners and lawmakers loyal to Wike had resigned from the state executive council and defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

But, President Tinubu had intervened in the rift and compelled them to sign a peace pact.

As part of the peace pact, Fubara had renominated and sworn-in the commissioners.

Amid the rift with Fubara, kidnapping and insecurity have been on the rise within the federal capital city.

While several people were abducted, bandits killed others.

“Distracted Wike want to govern Abuja & Rivers at the same time.

“He continues to dish out to Sim Fubara that he will not tolerate from anyone as governor.

“If the reverse was the case, Wike would have demolished Sim Fubara’s houses & prevented him from entering the state,” Adeyanju said in a chat with our correspondent.
