Why we ensure strict monitoring of housing projects – FMBN

The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has reassured of high quality standard in its housing projects across the country.

This is contained in a Press Released by Mrs Timan Elayo, the Group Head, Corporate Communications, FMBN in Abuja.

Elayo said that the Managing Director, FMBN, Mr Madu Hamman, said this when he led a team of top management staff of the bank on a monitoring and evaluation visit to five project sites in Abuja.

The MD said that the bank has stepped up monitoring and inspection of funded estates nationwide in a bid to ensure timely completion of ongoing housing projects.

Hamman said the aim was to boost availability of decent, quality, and affordable housing stock for Nigerians who contributed to the National Housing Fund (NHF) Scheme.

“We are pleased with the level of work on the sites.

“We have prioritised optimising our project monitoring structures nationwide to ensure our developers ensure strict compliance with approved terms and conditions of housing finance loans, we extend to them to develop those housing projects.

“We aim is to ensure that all FMBN projects are delivered in good quality and on time.

“ This will enable us to package relevant loans for eligible contributors to the NHF Scheme to move into their homes,” he said.

The head group communications listed the sites visited to include; Ministerial Pilot Housing Scheme (MPHS) project comprising 32 bedroom terrace duplexes at Kafe District, near Life Camp in Abuja.

“Others are DPR Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited housing Estate comprising 24 units of 3-bedroom block of flats and 18 units of 4-bedroom duplexes in Dafe.

“DOX Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited comprising 12 units of 2 and 3 bedroom blocks of flats located in Karsana North Cadastral D05, Abuja.

“Others are the Copen Investment Co-operative Society Estate comprising 2 and 3 Bedroom Blocks of flats and 2 Bedroom Block of apartments at Fiindabo District, Abuja.
