Cross River State Police command has said they arrested and detained the special adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on media, Awade Friday over his connection to the ‘sudden’ and unnatural’ death of a social media influencer, one Mr Abel.
The spokesman of the command, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata confirmed the arrest to journalists in Calabar on Friday morning.
Akata said, “He is under our custody in State CID. He is helping us with an ongoing investigation.”
Awade is a popular radio programme anchor in Calabar who was appointed special adviser to the Governor.
He has been mobilising support for the re-election of Otu for second term.
