New AS Roma signing, Nemanja Matic, has said that he hopes to achieve some great things with manager Jose Mourinho at the club.
Matic said Mourinho is well known to everyone, adding that his decision to join Roma was straightforward.
The Serbian worked with Mourinho during their time at Manchester United and Chelsea.
Matic, who joined Roma as a free agent, signing a one-year deal until June 2023 plus an option for a further season, told the club’s official website on Tuesday: “I am pleased and honoured to be joining this club and I cannot wait to start the new season with my teammates.
“Roma is a big club, with amazing fans and a coach, Jose Mourinho, who is well known to everyone – making the decision to come here very straightforward.
“I hope that by working together, we are able to achieve some great things.”
Matic, 33, has opted to wear the No. 21 shirt for Roma.
