We’ll sustain Ayade’s industrial revolution, Prince Otu vows

The gubernatorial flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Distinguished Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has promised that his administration if elected governor will ensure the sustenance of the industrial revolution initiated by the outgoing Governor Ben Ayade.

Prince Otu made the promise when he visited Calabar Municipal in continuation of his campaign tour across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Cross River State ahead of the governorship election holding on March 11, 2023.

The APC guber flag bearer said he remains the only candidate among others that can effectively galvanize young people in the state to bring about the overall transformation of Cross River and make life better for the citizens.

His words: “I’ll give you grants and loans to take advantage of the opportunities Ayade’s industrial revolution offers.

“When you sent me to the House of Representatives and later to the Senate, I did not go there to play around. I chaired some of the most important committees on critical sectors of our nation’s economy, including chairing several economic meetings in the United Nations and other international organizations.”

He assured the people that his huge experience would come to bear in the governance of the state if he is elected to become the next Cross River helmsman.

“My intention is to make sure that all Cross Riverians are gainfully engaged in a way that will make everyone proud. The moment we get into government, we will immediately ensure that we restore the dignity of all Cross Riverians,” he added.

On the contentious issue of Ejagham, the ex-parliamentarian called on political stakeholders and traditional leaders not to be deceived by the ethnic politics currently being played by the opposition party.

At Bakassi, the Chairman of Cross River State Traditional Rulers Council and Paramount ruler of Bakassi LGA, HRM Etinyin Etim Okon Edet, eulogized Prince Otu describing him as a man of integrity, tested and trusted, and qualified by all known standards to govern the State.

While welcoming the APC gubernatorial candidate to his Kingdom, the monarch assured him of his support and prayers, insisting that the goodwill of Prince Otu is known to all Cross Riverians.

“Senator Prince Bassey Otu is a man of integrity tested and trusted. You don’t tell us what to do in your matter, we know what to do, you don’t need to bother yourself, we will do the needful when the time comes, Bakassi is 100 percent Otu.

“For standing on the path of truth, fairness, equity and justice in driving the process of returning power back to the south, Ayade you will go to heaven. We as a people say thank you.”
