We Are Ready to Work With Fubara – Rivers APC Chairman Emeka Beke Declares, Shuns Wike

The reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, has declared the party’s readiness to work with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Beke made the declaration while speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Tuesday.

He stated that the APC, under his leadership, would collaborate with Fubara if the governor extends a hand of fellowship to the party.

He said, “I worked with Rotimi Amaechi and he is my leader, and he has no link with Fubara.

“If he extends a hand of fellowship to APC, we will work with him and develop the state. We can’t continue fighting; Rivers is going backwards.

“You can’t have two governors in one state, even if your own son is made governor, you should allow him to function.

“We have finished the politicking; it’s now time for governance.”

The Rivers State High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, had on Monday dismissed the APC seven-member Caretaker Committee led by Tony Okocha. Okocha is a known ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

It should be recalled that Fubara and Wike have been embroiled in a bitter power struggle since the governor’s assumption of office.

The rift allegedly centres around control of the state’s political structure.
