Voter apathy mars Assembly election in Ondo

The House of Assembly election in Ondo State has been marred with low turnout of voters.

While monitoring the process in Akure, the state capital, it was observed that polling units visited had a few number of accredited voters.

The development was different during the Presidential and National Assembly elections which had large voters’ turnout.

In eight states across the nation, only the House of Assembly election was held, Ondo inclusive.

Meanwhile, local officials hired towncriers to make personal appeals and convince residents to come out for the exercise.
