VIDEO: How Catholic Bishop rejected N25m donation from Gov Ayade over unpaid salaries

Video showing moments the Catholic Bishop of Uyo Diocese, John Ebebe Ayah, rejected a N25 million donation from the Cross Rivers State Governor, Ben Ayade has emerged online.

The governor had during a mass held at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ikot Ansa, donated N25 million to the church.

Governor Ayade made the move at the thanksgiving mass for Justice Emmanuel Agim Akomaye, who was recently promoted to the rank of Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

According to the video making the rounds on social media, the bishop subtly shunned the governor and asked him to use the money to pay workers’ salaries.

The development is currently generating reactions on social media as many Nigerians lauded his courage, asking other clergymen to emulate Bishop Ayah.
