Very painful – Buhari, Olugbon mourn Aseyin’s death 

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (APC-Oyo North) and the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao have expressed sadness over the death of Oba Abdul-Ganiy Adekunle, the Aseyin of Iseyin.

The pair, in their respective condolence messages, made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan, described the traditional ruler’s death as very painful and a great loss.

Recall that the traditional ruler, the 28th Aseyin of Iseyin, died on Sunday at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.

Buhari, in a statement he personally signed, described Aseyin’s death as touching.

He said, “The death of Kabiesi Aseyin was a very touching and painful experience due to his uncommon traits in community development and nation-building.

“He was an Oba who loved his subjects and brought development to the ancient town.

“His wisdom and guidance fostered unity in Iseyin, Oke-Ogun and Oyo State. He will be missed.”

Buhari condoled with the immediate family of Aseyin and also prayed that God would grant him Aljannat Firdaous on the day of accountability.

Meanwhile, in his condolence, the Olugbon, also the Vice-Chairman, Oyo State Council of Traditional Rulers, in a statement he personally signed, said he received the news of the monarch’s sudden death as a rude shock.

He said, “This is another great loss to the Oyo State Obas Council and Chiefs.

“He served his people wholeheartedly and was selfless. We, all in the traditional council of Oyo State, will miss him dearly.

“I pray to God Almighty to comfort and console his family as well as the entire Oyo State.”
