‘VDM will face the law for posting Tinubu’s fake audio’ – Presidency vows

‎The Presidency on Wednesday vowed to prosecute Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, VDM, for allegedly sharing fake audio of President Bola Tinubu.

‎News reports that a post by an X user, @Pious_minister showed when an AI generated audio of the President was played in VDM’s video.

‎The audio captured Tinubu’s voice, saying that the insecurity in Nigeria would continue because Nigerians didn’t vote for him in 2023.

‎Reacting, Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga in a post on his official X handle, said the VDM would be made to face the full weight of the law.

‎He wrote, “This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu.

‎“This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform”.

‎However, a quick check by DAILY POST revealed that VDM has no such audio in his videos.
