Uphold Ekiti’s core values – CAN chair charges gov-elect

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria in Ekiti, and President of Ekiti Baptist Conference, Rev Emmanuel Adeyinka Aribasoye, has charged the incoming administration in Ekiti to maintain the core values the people of Ekiti were known for.

Reverend Aribasoye gave the charge during an interview with journalists in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

He stressed that one of the major achievements of Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s government was the restoration of the Ekiti core values of honour, decency, respect, and dignity, which are synonymous with the “Oni Uyi” awards in the state.

He, therefore, advised the incoming government to sustain Ekiti’s already restored core values and make the welfare of the workforce his topmost priority.

He charged the incoming Biodun Oyebanji-led government to provide an enabling environment for small-scale industry to thrive, promoting tourism and resuscitation of the textile industry in the state.

The clergy called on Christians to change their narratives from praying for good governance alone to participating in active politics to effect a positive change needed for the turnaround of the
country.
