Umakhihe bags Doctoral Degree in Science

Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe has been conferred with Doctoral Degree in Science (Honoris Causa) by the Federal University Lokoja, FUL, Kogi State.

According to a press release issued by Ezeaja Ikemefuna, AD, Information, For: Director, Information, FMAFS, Umakhihe was formally decorated during the combined 6th and 7th Convocation Ceremony held recently at the Permanent Site of FUL, Lokoja, Kogi State.

While decorating the Permanent Secretary with the award, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Olayinka Akinwumi said that Dr Ernest Umakhihe was honoured for his immense contribution to Agricultural Sector and National Development which stands him out as an Administrator and Achiever.

The Vice Chancellor lauded Dr Umakhihe for facilitating the establishment of an Agribusiness Incubation Centre, AIC, in the University and access road from the AIC to the University Farm.

The Vice Chancellor urged other well placed Nigerians to emulate the life of service of Dr Umakhihe by using their positions to contribute to the development of the country.

Akinwumi also commended Dr Umakhihe for his dedication and commitment to national service and for providing inspiring leadership to all those around him.

In his remarks, Umakhihe thanked the Vice Chancellor, Management and the Entire Staff of the University for finding him worthy of the honour.

The Permanent Secretary dedicated the award to his lovely Wife, Family, Friends, Hon. Ministers and the Entire staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
