Is it violence or politics? When it happens in the U.S., violence must be denounced and “thugs” be punished for “law and order.” But when it comes to Hong Kong, violence becomes heroic. Being two-faced is maybe good politics, but it’s hollowing out U.S. morality, at home and abroad.
