Tunisia coach targets victory in play-off clash with Flying Eagles

Tunisia’s head coach, Adel Sellimi has challenged his players to fight hard to end their campaign at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations on a positive note.

The Young Carthage Eagles fell to a 3-0 defeat against the cubs of Senegal in the semi-final on Monday.

The North Africans have enjoyed a topsy-turvy campaign in the competition barely managing to scale through the group stage.

Sellimi’s charges will confront the Flying Eagles in the third-place match at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday (today).

Ahead of the game, the gaffer urged his players to forget the defeat against Senegal and focus on the task ahead.

“After the psychological shock against Senegal I asked the players to pull themselves together because the competition is not over,” Sellimi said.

“We can still win a trophy. The bronze medal is important for the CVs of the players, they must be aware of it.’

Tunisia has never won a medal at the U-20 AFCON.
