Tuchel ‘totally shocked’ by Chelsea sack, ‘begged Boehly for second chance’

Thomas Tuchel was left “totally shocked” by Chelsea’s decision to sack him on Wednesday.

The German was fired in a brutal 10-minute phone call in which he begged to be given a second chance.

Tuchel was relieved of his duties following the Blues’ third straight away defeat, this time at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb in their opening Champions League Group E fixture.

After the game, Tuchel claimed “everything is missing” from the club at the moment.

According to The Sun, the former PSG boss drove to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground today to give his squad a dressing down following Tuesday’s game.

But there was no one to greet him when he arrived and Tuchel was instead ordered to attend a conference call with the Chelsea hierarchy.

The call lasted 10 minutes in which Tuchel pleaded not to be sacked and to be given a second chance to turn things around.

But his pleas fell on deaf ears with new owner Todd Boehly wielding the axe and relieving the German of his duties.
