Tragedy in Nasarawa as bandits kill primary school teacher, abduct two children

A primary school teacher named Yakubu Mohammed was shot dead, and two of his children were abducted by bandits in Lokogoma community of Gadabuke District, Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa State around midnight on Friday.

In addition to the killing of Mohammed and the abduction of his children, seven other residents, including two women, were also kidnapped during the attack.

A woman was reported to have sustained bullet injuries during the incident, further escalating the community’s fear and sorrow.

The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to reporters on Tuesday.

He assured that the police have launched an investigation and are actively working to rescue the abducted victims and apprehend the culprits.

“It’s true the incident happened and investigation has been launched. Effort is ongoing to rescue the victims and arrest the culprits,” DSP Nansel stated.

The community leaders called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the rising wave of banditry and ensure the safe return of the kidnapped individuals.
