Tinubu using road projects to fight insecurity – Umahi

‎Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said President Bola Tinubu is using road rehabilitation and construction projects under his administration to tackle insecurity in Nigeria.

‎Umahi stated that Tinubu’s government is using strategic highway projects to enhance military activities throughout the country.

‎He spoke during the official start of the projects at Muna City Gate on the Maiduguri-Dikwa-Gamboru road over the weekend.

‎Umahi said the roads would help bring communities back together, boost economic activities, and improve military operations in the North-east.

‎The minister said the projects are meant to help the government reach its security goals by making it easier to get to border areas and better supporting the logistics for security forces.

‎He said: “These road infrastructure projects are part of President Tinubu’s bigger plan to tackle insecurity.

‎“When these projects are done, the people in the North-east will benefit because they connect to Chad and Cameroon.

‎“But the bigger point is that our military will have roads to fight against whatever remains of the insurgency.”
