Tinubu promotes acting chief of army staff Oluyede to lieutenant general

President Bola Tinubu has promoted Olufemi Oluyede, the acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS), to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Sources at the Presidential Villa confirmed the news on Tuesday.

The development has led to speculation of a later promotion to the permanent head of the army.

Oluyede, previously a Major General was recently appointed acting army chief due to the ill health of former Army Chief Taoreed Lagbaja.
