Tinubu orders immediate release of all minors arraigned over #EndBadGovernance protest

Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate release of all the minors who were arraigned before a Federal High in Abuja over charges of treason, intent to overthrow the president among others.

The minister of information and national orientation, Ibrahim Idris made this disclosure at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, November 4.

According to the minister, the president ordered that all the charges against the minors be dropped immediately.

The minors are being prosecuted alongside other defendants numbering about 67 over their participation in August 1 to 10, nationwide protest.

However, during their arraignment on Friday, all the children were looking utterly malnourished with about four of them collapsing in the courtroom.

This led to the stand down of their trial by the judge who later slammed the children bail of N10 million with sureties in like sum along with the other defendants.

Since Friday, their arraignment has generated outrage among citizens, civil society organisations and leaders including Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso and many others.
