Tinubu Issues Directive Following Death of Army Chief Lagbaja

President Bola Tinubu has directed that the national flag be flown at half-mast throughout the country for seven days in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

The directive comes after Lagbaja’s passing due to a brief illness, announced by the presidency early Wednesday.

According to Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Federation, President Tinubu appreciates Lagbaja’s services to the nation and extends condolences to his family, wishing them the fortitude to bear the great loss.

“The President has directed that National Flags be flown at half-mast throughout the country for seven days in honour of the departed Army Chief,” Akume said.
