Tinubu Appoints Acting Chairman of FCT Internal Revenue Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mr. Michael Hadi Ango as the Acting Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).

The announcement was made on Friday by Anthony Ogunleye, Director of the Press Office of the FCT Minister.

According to the statement, Mr. Ango brings extensive experience and a robust track record in revenue administration, financial management, and organizational leadership.

The statement added that with over 20 years of service across public and private sectors, Ango is recognized for his excellence and innovation in revenue collection and management.

Mr. Ango holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Columbia University School of Law, New York (2019), a Bachelor of Law degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2002), and completed his studies at the Nigerian Law School in 2003. Additionally, he attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Executive Education in Comparative Tax Policy and Administration Programme in 2013.

His professional experience includes serving as Partner and Head of the Tax Advisory and Regulatory Services Unit at Andersen LP, a global tax services firm; Head of Legal and Stakeholders Relations at Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) PLC; and Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Guinness Nigeria PLC.

Ango has also worked as a Technical Advisor to the CEO of the Federal Inland Revenue Service and held various positions at KPMG Professional Services.

Mr. Ango has been involved in several strategic committees, including the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, the FIA (International Automobile Federation) Ethics Committee, and the Fiscal Policy Reform Committee of the Ministry of Finance.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the International Association of Privacy Professionals, among other organizations.

Mr. Michael Hadi Ango hails from Kebbi State, is married, and has children.
