Ten Hag to take Man Utd spending to £200m with deal for defender

Manchester United is close to signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice in a deal worth £34.1m, according to L’Equipe.

Red Devils boss, Erik ten Hag, wants to bolster his defence this summer, despite failing to offload Harry Magure.

United had targeted Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard when it seemed Maguire would join the Hammers. But the Frenchman is now set to sign for Inter Milan instead.

That has forced Ten Hag to consider other options and Todibo is now said to be close to completing a move to Old Trafford.

Todibo’s mix of physicality, speed and ball-playing ability has attracted Ten Hag and a deal of £34.1m is in the offing, taking United’s summer spending to £200m.
