Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has “made clear” that his two priority transfer targets this summer are Frenkie de Jong and Christian Eriksen.
De Telegraaf claims that both former Ajax midfielders are at the very top of Ten Hag’s wish-list this summer.
The new United manager has explained to United’s board that each player is crucial to his style of play and has instructed them to secure their dealings.
Barcelona’s De Jong is believed to have spoken with Ten Hag over the phone, in a conversation where the Dutch coach outlined the role the player would enjoy under him.
De Jong is said to have been assured he would be the “conductor of the orchestra”.
Danish playmaker Eriksen is available on a free transfer after his short-term deal with Brentford expired and United are believed to have tabled an offer.
However, Eriksen has proposals from Brentford and his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, both options which would allow Eriksen and his family to remain in London.
