Taraba Government Denies Plans To Demolish Palace, Central Mosque

The president of the association, Mr Emmanuel Ukwen, represented by Mr Markus Apwende, had alleged that a foreign contractor, accompanied by heavy security and armed militia, was spotted marking the palace and mosque for demolition.

However, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Zainab Usman Jalingo, dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that they were designed to incite fear and unrest within the community.

She emphasised the government’s commitment to peace, unity and equal development for all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

“These unfounded rumours are the work of troublemakers and should be disregarded,” the commissioner said, reaffirming the government’s dedication to the welfare and justice of all residents in the state.
