Suspended Senator Natasha returns to Nigeria, bags Bold Voice Award

Suspended lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has returned to Nigeria.

The lawmaker returned after her controversial appearance at the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) where she tabled the ‘unjust action’ of the Senate against her.

Akpoti-Uduaghan upon her return was honoured with The Bold Voice of Good Governance Award at the 2025 ARISE Gala Night.

The award ceremony which took place on Monday, March 31, was organised by Arise Television in honour of 65 women making an impact in Nigeria.Nigerian cultural tours

The event was part of the grand finale for International Women’s Month and the celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

Speaking while receiving her award, Akpoti-Uduaghan said, “This morning I almost didn’t feel like attending this event, but my husband had to speak to me.

“He said, ‘Natasha, it doesn’t matter what the media has narrated of you, that doesn’t define you,’ and walking up here, the cheers I had from you all just reaffirmed one must find courage to speak even in the most difficult of times,” the Kogi lawmaker said.
