Suspected cultists butcher man in Delta community as residents flee

Suspected cultists have reportedly butchered a young man identified as “Commissioner” in Orhunwhorhun Community, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Details as to why the deceased was killed were still sketchy at the time of this report.

It is not also clear if the deceased was a member of any of the cult groups in the area.

Our Correspondent who monitored activities in the area reports that a clash by rival cult groups claimed the life of the deceased.

It was learnt that the deceased was accosted during the clash and was brutally attacked with machetes, cutlasses, battle axes and broken bottles. His body was cut/sliced to pieces by the cultists who waited for him to breathe his last before they left the crime scene.

The incident has caused serious tension within the area as indigenes and residents are now fleeing following threats by the suspected cultists who vowed to return at night to complete their missions.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe is yet to comment on the matter and has not responded to messages sent to him.
