‘Supreme banditry’ – Gumi reacts to US capture of Venezuelan President Maduro

Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has reacted to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife by the United States President Donald Trump.

In a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, Gumi said “Supreme banditry doesn’t attack villages, they attack nations and kidnap leaders,” seemingly referring to President Trump.

Gumi has been a staunch critic of Trump, especially since his military intervention in Nigeria.

News reports that Trump had earlier on Saturday disclosed this in a post via his Truth Social media account on Saturday.

The development comes a few months after the US government doubled the reward for information leading to the arrest of Maduro to $50 million, citing his alleged role in international drug trafficking.
