Sunshine Stars boss, Agoye shifts attention to Rivers United clash

Sunshine Stars manager, Edith Agoye is now firmly focused on the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday two encounter against Rivers United.

The Owena Wanes held Doma United to a 1-1 draw in their opening fixture of the campaign on Sunday.

Chibuike Osimhen gave Doma United the lead six minutes before the break.

Sunshine Stars earned a share of the spoils in stoppage time with Ibrahim Yusuf netting the equaliser.

“It’s not enough for us to be confident but we have to be able to do the job that is necessary for us to win against Rivers United,” Agoye told the club’s media.

“They will not be an easy team to play being the defending champions but Sunshine Stars is a strong team and we know our strength. The boys are ready to go and we want to compliment the away draw with a home win.”

Sunshine Stars will face Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Thursday.
