Stuart Pearce names three players not good enough for Arsenal

Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce believes three Arsenal players Kai Havertz, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are not good enough for the the Gunners this season.

Pearce feels Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta needs to reinforce his attacking options with a goalscoring striker up front to improve his team.

“You look at some of the high-flying teams around the world, they might have four options up front,” Pearce told The Express.

“There are still slight questions marks about Nketiah and Jesus. Maybe even if [Kai] Havertz plays up top, there’s a question mark there.

“If an out-and-out goal scorer that guarantees 20-odd goals a season [becomes available], that would push Arsenal’s credentials even further.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been liked to Brentford striker Ivan Toney in the upcoming January transfer window.

The North London club will have to battle their Premier League rival Chelsea for Toney’s signature.
