The leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has given a condition to be met by the Federal Government before it can call off the ongoing strike by the union.
Mohammed Ibrahim, the president of SSANU said it is until the union members receive an alert of salaries owed them will they resume work in the institutions.
Speaking on Channels Television’s politics today, Ibrahim members of the union are being owed four months’ salaries which are currently stuck with the Ministry of Finance.
He also said that the strike action would remain indefinite until the Federal Government does the needful.
His words, “The issue is that we want payment and every procedure has been followed. They can simply direct payment of the money. I assure you that in less than 24 hours we will refer back to our principal and the strike will be suspended.”
