Spanish club, Tenerife sign Super Falcons forward

Super Falcons forward, Esther Okoronkwo has joined Spanish Iberdola side, UDG Tenerife on a two-year contract.

Okoronkwo linked up with Tenerife from French outfit, AS Saint-Etienne.

The 26-year-old played a key role in Saint Etienne’s promotion to the French top-flight in the just concluded season.

The striker expressed her delight after completing the move.

“UDG Tenerife is an incredible team, with great footballers who can only make me a better player too. I like challenges and together with this team we can achieve great things,” Okoronkwo told the club’s official website.

“The Spanish league is one of the best leagues out there and I am very excited about this new journey, I am looking forward to joining the team and meeting my new teammates”.

She has made three appearances for Nigeria with one goal to her name.
