Some senators won’t see 2025 budget before it’s passed – Adeyanju

Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju on Thursday said some senators may not see the 2025 budget before it’s passed into law.

Adeyanju made the remark against the backdrop of five senators who informed him that they never saw the last budget before it was passed into law.

Posting on X, Adeyanju wrote: “5 senators told me they never saw the last budget after several demands; it was later passed into law with the speed of light.

I’m sure, senators won’t also see this budget, neither will they scrutinize it and it will be passed. This is how low we have descended as a nation.”

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly for the 2025 fiscal year.

Tinubu’s 2025 budget was tagged: “The Restoration Budget: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity.”

In the highlights, Tinubu said N4.91 trillion has been allocated to Defence and Security, while Infrastructure has N4.06 trillion, Education – N3.52 trillion, and Health – N2.48 trillion.
