Sokoto APC Nominates Gobir As Deputy Governorship Candidate

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Sokoto State has on Tuesday unveiled Idris Muhammad Gobir as deputy Governorship Candidate for 2023 election.

Addressing newsmen at the party secretariat, Sokoto the APC state chairman Alhaji Isa Sadiq Acida said the party Governorship Candidate for 2023 Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto after wide consultation with the party stalwarts and stakeholders has settled on Idris Muhammad Gobir as his running mate.

Muhammad Gobir until his nomination was the special assistant to the minister of police affairs Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi , he was also former commissioner for budget and economic planning and one time sole administrator of Sabon Birnin local government.

Gobir hailed from Sabon Birnin local government in the eastern senatorial district of the state.

The 47 years Gobir was alumnus of prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria , he has five masters degree in various disciplines of human management and development, including computer soft ware management, as well as international affairs and diplomacy.

In his acceptance speech Muhammad Gobir , thanked Ahmad Aliyu , senator Aliyu Wamakko and the party stakeholders in the state for finding him worthy promising that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.

He further added that he would work with the party leaders in the state to ensure APC win 2023 governorship election .

It has been recalled that the governorship candidate of PDP mallam Umar Sa’aidu also picked Sagir Bafarawa from the eastern part of the state as his running mate.
