So-Safe arrests suspected bike snatcher in Ogun

The So-Safe Corps in Ogun State has arrested a man said to be a member of a notorious robbery syndicate, Michael Olanrewaju.

So-Safe disclosed that the suspect was arrested at about 05:30 am on Tuesday, August 15 at Agbado Oke-Aro, in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The So-Safe spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, said in a statement that the suspect had “on several occasions escaped arrest and sometimes left injuries on law enforcement agents in the course of arresting him.”

Yusuf disclosed that the 26-year-old Olanrewaju, a resident of Abattoir Oju-Irin, Lagos State, “is known for snatching and stealing motorbikes and power generating sets in Ogun State.”

Otherwise known as Skendu, the suspect usually escaped to Lagos after every successful robbery operation in Ogun, Yusuf disclosed.

He noted that the young man was sighted by the corps’s undercover officers attached to Agbado/Oke-Aro/Ibaragun Area Command under Assistant Commander Akeem Olaiya.

“During preliminary investigation, the culprit confessed that he specialises in snatching and stealing motorbikes and power generating sets in Olambe communities and environs in Ifo LG.

“The suspect has been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution,” the statement concluded.
