Sit-at-home: Gov Uzodinma abandoned Imo, now Abuja resident – Gozie Nwachukwu alleges

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State, Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu, has alleged that Governor Hope Uzodinma abandoned the state for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

Nwachukwu, a spokesman of the Imo PDP 2023 gubernatorial campaign, made the allegations when he featured on Arise Television on Friday.

According to him, while other governors in the region were trying to restore confidence in the residents during the seven days sit-at-home recently enforced by loyalists of the wanted Simon Ekpa, Uzodinma was in the FCT.

He alleged that when there is a security crisis in the state, there is no leader to address the situation.

He said, “What has been happening in Imo State has been so depressing. You could see the man from Anambra, you could see the governor of Enugu State Mbah on Monday going to market and other public places restoring confidence in the masses but what has happened in Imo is that, the state has been abandoned by the governor.

“The governor is no longer resident in the state. The man is now in Abuja. So what happens is that when there is security challenge, there is nobody to come out to speak to the people.

“During the seven days sit-at-home in Southeast, there was a meeting held by the Southeast leaders it was chaired by Imo governor in Abuja here”.
