SDP senatorial aspirant expresses worry over poor sanitation in Calabar

The Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Newton Bassey has bemoaned the poor sanitary in Calabar, the state capital.

He said in an interview that the state has lost it in the area of cleanliness, adding that his party will bring about sanity and restore the lost glory of the state.

“Cross River State has lost it. We were the leading states in the country in terms of cleanliness but today our place is very low”, he said.

Bassey alleged that the sitting government does not care about environmental sanitation, stressing that there was no single street or road in Calabar which has not been taken over by mountains of refuse.
