Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on N’Golo Kante’s contract situation at Chelsea.
Kante’s current deal at Stamford Bridge will run out this summer, and talks have been ongoing over a possible extension.
Kante, a 2018 World Cup winner with France, is widely regarded as one of the best box-to-box midfielders around.
According to Romano, the Frenchman’s extension talks with the Blues entered an advanced stage before slowing down recently, and the situation is unclear at this point.
“N’Golo Kanté’s contract extension, not done yet — talks were very advanced in the last months but now the situation is unclear again. More contacts will take place,” he tweeted.
“Parties will talk in order to decide — there are more clubs keen on Kanté on a free, including Saudi.”
