Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has named Arsenal legend, Dennis Bergkamp, as the hardest opponent he ever faced from the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Ferdinand, who was among the latest inductees into the Hall of Fame revealed on Wednesday, stated this when asked which of the current Premier League Hall of Fame members was his hardest opponent.
The former England international said: “Dennis Bergkamp was one of my hardest opponents. I played against him when I was quite inexperienced and young. He caused me all sorts of problems. He was a nightmare!”
Ferdinand joins fellow Man United legends Wayne Rooney, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, David Beckham, Peter Schmeichel and Paul Scholes in the Hall of Fame.
Bergkamp went up against Ferdinand 16 times in his career.
He won three Premier League titles with Arsenal, scoring 87 goals and making 81 assists.
