Residents flee as terrorists attack Gov Fintiri’s hometown, one other village in Adamawa

‎Residents of Kirchinga and Sheweri villages in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State fled their homes following an attack by some Boko Haram terrorists.

‎It was gathered that the terrorists attacked the villages and launched a brutal offensive that left security agencies and their operatives struggling to contain the violence

‎According to residents, the terrorists invaded Kirchinga, the hometown of the Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri and Sheweri in the early hours of Monday.

‎Armed to the teeth, the terrorists were said to have set buildings and other properties ablaze, while residents who were in a panic mode fled into the bush for their safety.

‎Sources within Sheweri said the village was still engulfed in flames while several members of the community were killed during the attack.

‎The sources also stated that the criminals also struck at the Kirchinga market despite attempts by the military forces to halt their invasion.

‎According to the sources, the terrorists successfully attacked the market while engaging the soldiers in a fierce gun battle.

‎Describing the incident as chaotic, the eyewitnesses said, the attack was filled with “scenes of smoke, gunshots, and devastation.
