Release clause in Haaland’s Man City contract revealed

Real Madrid are already working on signing Erling Haaland from Manchester City, just days after he completed his switch from Borussia Dortmund.

The Norway international moved to the Etihad for just £51 million this week.

Now AS reports that the deal is thought to have included a £128million release clause (€150m) into his contract.

This is perfectly suited to Madrid who would be looking for a long term replacement for Karim Benzema.

It is believed the LaLiga giants’ interest is not a direct reaction to being snubbed by Kylian Mbappe who opted to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

Instead, the plan was for Mbappe to join this summer, before landing Haaland in 2023.
